“The biophysics of ligand-gated ion channels: from structures to drug discovery” will run from May 23 to 25.
The Focused Meeting titled “The biophysics of ligand-gated ion channels: from structures to drug discovery” will run from May 23 to 25, 2022 and will overlap with the 7th Annual Meeting of the Biophysical Society of Canada from May 25 to 27, 2022. Both meetings have an outstanding list of invited speakers, including keynote lectures by Eric Gouaux and Henry Lester. For more information on the meeting, including a list of invited speakers, please visit the joint BSC-IUPAB website: https://event.fourwaves.com/jointbsc2022iupab.
This meeting is timely because the study of ligand-gated ion channels had has undergone unprecedented advances with the convergence of scientific disciplines - structural biology has emerged as an approach to understand both ligand-gated ion channel function and drug action, while advances in genetics have permitted the assignment of different families of ligand-gated ion channels to distinct roles in health and disease. This IUPAB Focused Meeting will bring together a unique group of leading researchers from across the globe to showcase the most recent advances in the biophysics of ligand-gated ion channels, and how such studies are leading to drug discovery.
The joint IUPAB-BSC meeting will be held in person. There is also a live-streaming option for those who cannot attend the meeting in person in Ottawa.
Early registration until April 15, 2022
Abstract deadline: April 30, 2022
