EBSA is continuing its Advanced Courses on Biophysics, and due to popular demand, this is 5th of the series focussing on Membrane Biophysics and Lipid Protein Interactions.
This 5-day advanced course is for PhD students, post-docs and young scientists.
The registration includes full accommodation (housing and meals) and is heavily subsidised by EBSA to ensure widest possible participation.
The number of participants is limited to 50, with preference given to graduate students.
The course will consist of plenary lectures by specialists in the field of membrane biophysics using most methodologies that are applied to membranes (NMR, X-rays, AFM, EM, Fluorescence, Calorimetry, Molecular Dynamics). Cases studies will be presented by teachers to small groups of participants. Round table discussions where participants will present their ongoing work and for which they may need advice from specialists, will follow.

Deadline for registration and abstracts: June 22
Institute of Physics, University of Sao Paulo (Sao Paulo, Brazil)
October 16th to October 27th 2017.
The main goal of the Advanced School is to provide young researchers (PhD and postdocs) with the state of the art of theoretical and experimental tools to study Biomolecular Interactions. The students will meet prominent biophysicists in the field and other young scientists in an attractive and convivial environment.
A significant number of travel grants (75) are available for eligible participants from other countries and Brazilian states other than Sao Paulo.
Submission of applications/abstracts is open until June 10th 2017.
Edinburgh, 16 - 20th July 2017 (http://www.iupab2017.org/)
Venki Ramakrishnan is presenting the opening Plenary Lecture and Bob Lewkowitz the closing Plenary Lecture. Chris Dobson gives a Public Engagement Lecture on the first day of the congress at 2:30pm.
The sessions and list of invited speakers are here (http://www.iupab2017.org/speakers) and there are still over 100 short presentations to be selected from submitted abstracts (Deadline 24 March 2017).
Several satellite meetings are also taking place (http://www.iupab2017.org/satellitemeetings) and in particular a EBSA Young scientists networking satellite - “Biophysics in the 21st Century”, with heavily subsidized accommodation and registration.
Over 160 bursaries (10 March deadline) are available for younger scientists from IUPAB/EBSA and other sources, as well as many poster prizes.
Registration includes all lunches, refreshments, conference dinner and events.
